DESCRIPTION |
|
| |
The Discalced Carmelite Nuns of Carmel of the Infant Jesus belongs to the Order of the Blessed Virgin Mary of Mount Carmel . We are the only women contemplative Order serving the Archdiocese of Toronto. In silence and solitude, we collaborate in all the active apostolate and missions of the Church with our hidden prayers, sacrifices and good works. We especially pray for the sanctification of priests and all those in need. |

MISSION STATEMENT |
|
| |
Through a cloistered life of prayer and sacrifices, we pray for, teach and witness to all peoples: |
|
| |
- the primacy of God, who is Father, Lord and Maker of mankind;
- that one can draw close to God through contemplative prayer and good deeds;
- that one can transcend and be healed of the human brokenness through prayer, to reach human and spiritual maturity, and live in true freedom, peace, love and joy.

|
“Through your cloistered lives the sick are comforted, the needy assisted, hearts are reconciled, and the poor have the Gospel preached to them. Your contemplative life is absolutely vital for the Church and for mankind. Live to the full your dedication to God, so that this world may never be without a ray of divine beauty to lighten the path of human existence.”
– Pope John Paul II – |
